How It Works

Lucid Cove is a ladder, not a lock-in. Start with the free Tuner. When you want the full platform, become an Operator. When you want your own intelligence — your own agents, your family's system — you run a Cove. Self-host it for free, or have us host it. Same software either way.

Every tier includes daily tuning through the Lucid Tuner Protocol. We run the tuning infrastructure; it's built into the platform and always included. For hosted Coves, the agents' tuning is orchestrated on our infrastructure. For self-hosted Coves, your Cove subscribes to the same public daily Drop everyone gets.

Your Cove is portable. A hosted Cove can move to your own hardware whenever you want — your agents, your memory, and your data come with you. Nothing is locked to a platform you don't control.

Bring Your Own Keys

At Tuner and Operator, we handle everything — your tuning, your tools, your experience, all covered by your subscription.

At the Cove level, you bring your own model keys — from providers like Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, or any compatible service — or run local models on your own Ollama. This gives you full control over model quality and spend. Pay providers directly, at their price. No markup, no middleman.

Most platforms make their money marking up the API costs between you and the providers. We took that out of the equation entirely. Your hosted-Cove price covers the box and the management; your model spend goes straight to the provider. We never touch it.

Daily tuning is always on us, at every tier. The Lucid Tuner Protocol runs on our own infrastructure regardless of your model choices — that's the foundation of the system, and it's always included.

Where Your Cove Runs

Tuner and Operator run on our shared infrastructure — no setup, no decisions. When you host a Cove with us, you choose where it lives. Privacy and sovereignty aren't just for local hardware: a Cove on the right provider is still your data, your agents, your family's system, on rented metal whose jurisdiction you picked.

Own Hardware

Any Cove can run on your own workstation instead of a hosted box. Local GPU for fine-tuned models, zero external dependencies for sensitive work, full physical sovereignty. The grow-into option for operators who want total control — and it's free: the self-host guide walks you through it.

The system is identical either way. Smart routing means your GPU handles what should stay local; everything else routes through your own keys. Hardware doesn't change what you can do — it changes who owns the metal.

Share It. Earn From It.

Every account gets a personal referral code. Bring people into the network and earn a residual on what your referred sellers sell, two levels deep, for as long as they sell. Earnings accrue to your account as platform credit you can put toward the Market. Credit is promotional and has no cash value.

The affiliate program rewards growing the marketplace — you earn a residual on the sales your referred sellers make, paid out of the platform fee. Hosting is passed through at a clean price and is not commissionable, which keeps incentives honest: you earn from growing the community, not from upselling servers.

Beyond the Cove

A Haven is a collective of Coves — shared resources, agent specialization, a local economy, community governance. Sovereignty at scale. Havens form when Cove operators choose to connect their communities around shared values.
